KCOC
Annual Congregation (General) Meeting
KCOC provides a
unique ethnic Congregation here in America which sustains Kenyan Christian
cultural heritage.
Thank you for the privilege of allowing yourself to be a part of this Church.
Just like any other growing Church we are faced by many challenges and our
God who has sustained us this far, for we have come a long way towards
maintaining our vitality.
As we approach Thanksgiving
let us thank our God for this and many other things, as David puts it in Psalm
100.
What we have accomplished in those six years as a Church could not have been
achieved without your individual's input and support together with others who
have left.
Our growth efforts foster a sense of pride that gives confidence to each one of
us to invest in Jesus and not in the world, and as a result, adding to our Christian values and Faith.
As the world around us changes, the Church has challenges that continue to
unfold each day, for example, reduction in purchasing power, insecurity,
environmental changes, marriage values, globalization, politics, economic run
-down, attack to Christian ethics/principals and values, just to mention a few.
It is at this time we have to stand up like the first Church in the
Book of Acts chapter 2: v 42-47 devoting ourselves to Bible Teachings, to fellowship together, to breaking bread (partaking
Holy
Communion) and to Prayer.
On our financial condition, as the Treasurer will explain, it is not sufficient
to run all Church ministries as a fully fledged Church. Our goal as a Board is
to establish a strong, stable financial flow, with your participation, in a way
that our Church can sustain its ministries, including maintenance and
remunerating a Minister and other services in future, that is
through tithing and offerings.
It is also the Board's goal to maintain an environment such that, all ages will
be spiritually nourished and make our Church an attractive option, for all
to Worship including the Young people. This will happen only when each one of
us continues to be fully committed in supporting our Mission and Vision with a
forward looking approach. Full participation and commitment is the cornerstone
of growth of this Church as a Church and not a social gathering. Our Mission Statement says it all. Together, we will insure
now and in future that Kenyan Christian outreach Church remains progressive and livable Community of Believers.
By updating our Membership record we will enable the Board to plan
realistically in the coming years. From today we call upon you to do that
through the provided envelopes.
Our affiliation to PC USA is of great benefit in interacting with a first world
church. Once again I urge you to visit PTCA/PC USA website through the link in
our website, as there are many opportunities we can keep tapping.
I now move a vote of thanks to all of you present today, the Youth group,
Children ministry, Women group, Men group and to the Board, who have devoted
their precious time to attend meetings regularly.
To Amazing Grace Assembly
of God Church and in particular Pastor
Peter; God bless them for opening their doors to us without any reservations or
restrictions.
All this makes our Church thrive.
God Bless you all, God Bless KCOC!!!
Amen
Rev Michael Ngeru Kamau
